This more thorough evaluation is very important because a lack of motion in one area can create too much motion and resulting pain in another location. Often the cause of the pain (the area which is not contributing enough motion) will not hurt at all. Our goal is to find the source of the pain and bring correction for long-lasting comfort.
We understand that in order to have long-term benefits, you must receive more than just passive treatment (i.e., you are simply lying in a completely inactive role). Passive care, for most, is an important step, but for your body to really learn, change and adapt, you must engage in active care—you must physically move by your own effort.
The process begins with a full-body screen, which allows us to customize care based on your movement, not just on the point of your pain. The screen also gives us a baseline to measure your current level of motion so we can better judge your improvement. This assessment enables us to set priorities when multiple problems are found; it is as important to know what should be corrected first as it is to prescribe the right exercise.
Food is very powerful and, almost always, an important part of your care strategies. To meet your true potential, we will also discuss healthy diet options with you.
